MANAGER Quentin Townsend believes new-look Pershore Town are capable of being “in among the top six” in Midland League Division One this season.
Pershore launch their campaign at home to Nuneaton Griff tomorrow (3pm) when a number of players are expected to make their league debuts.
Since last season ended, Townsend, who arrived at the club in November, has brought in 19 new faces to form a 25-man squad.
Among those are Jamie Clarke, Will Gayton, Sean Cooke and Ciaran Gilbert from neighbours Littleton and striker Louis Bridges from Southam United.
Worcester-born Townsend, whose side finished 14th last term, said: “The revamp was something that needed to happen as I didn’t think we were good enough and I wanted to put my stamp on it as quickly as I could.
“It has taken longer than I anticipated but I am very hopeful about our prospects this season.
“I think we can be in among the top six with the squad we have got.”
