PERSHORE Town lost 3-0 at home to Midland League Division One champions Bromsgrove Sporting in front of a crowd of 356.

Town had the better of the first half with Dane Aldington's volley just over followed by efforts from Richard Thomas-Robinson and Steve Roche's shot that hit the post.

Reece Jacobs should have done better with a close-range header as Town more than matched Sporting.

The visitors hit the bar but did not open the scoring until the 42nd minute when Jason Cowley headed in a corner from close range.

Town started the second half positively with Steve Webb's shot narrowly over and Thomas-Robinson could have converted from close range.

Sporting scored again after 60 minutes through Chris Lloyd although it appeared Town defender James Walker was fouled in the build-up.

The visitors took control and scored a third goal through Robbie Bunn to continue Sporting's unbeaten league record.

On Saturday in their last home match of the season Pershore, who are 16th and five points above the drop zone, entertain Stafford Town who are also fighting to avoid the drop (3pm).

Meanwhile, mid-table Littleton suffered a third straight home defeat, going down 2-1 to Atherstone Town with Lewis Clarke scoring.
