LITTLETON won a strange match 5-1 at home to Uttoxeter Town to get off the mark in Midland League Division One.

For an hour there was nothing in the contest with both sides engaging in a battle for midfield.

But it all blew up as Littleton's Kyle Jaynes appeared to be brought down in the opposing penalty area.

The home crowd were certain it was a penalty but instead the referee sent Jaynes off for simulation which was his second bookable offence.

It caused an uproar but eventually play got under way again.

On the hour Littleton took the lead through a close-range effort by George Westwood.

This was quickly followed by a super drive from Dan Stokes to make it 2-0.

On 70 minutes Dan Holloway hammered home a 20-yard free-kick.

Stokes added a second on 80 minutes and on the stroke of full-time Joe Knight scored past the shell-shocked keeper.

The referee awarded the visitors a controversial penalty in injury-time which was converted.

Littleton visit Chelmsley Town on Saturday (3pm) and host Coventry Copsewood the following Wednesday (7.45pm).
