The Charlotte Hornets recorded one of the largest wins in NBA history as the side beat the Memphis Grizzlies 140-79.

The margin – 61 points – was the sixth largest ever recorded in the league, with the record standing at 68 in the 148-80 victory for the Cleveland Cavaliers over the Miami Heat in 1991-92.

The Hornets cantered to a 75-42 lead at the half and did not look back, with Kemba Walker the standout performer scoring 46 points – including 10-three pointers – four assists and three rebounds.

The Philadelphia 76ers notched up their fifth straight win with a 118-98 scoreline over the Orlando Magic, Joel Embiid scoring 17 in 20 minutes and Ersan Ilyasova top scoring for the 76ers with 18.

Meanwhile, the Detroit Pistons were outshot in overtime by the Western Conference-leading Houston Rockets with the game finishing 100-96, Eric Gordon scoring 22 points and five assists.

The loss for the Pistons guaranteed the Cleveland Cavaliers a playoff spot, while the New Orleans Pelicans kept their playoff hopes alive in a tight Western Conference with a 128-125 win over the LA Lakers.

The Utah Jazz also maintained their post-season prospects with a 119-112 win over the Dallas Mavericks, while the Atlanta Hawks went down 105-90 to the Sacramento Kings.
