PERSHORE finished fourth in Worcestershire Women's Hockey League Division One after a walk-over completed their season.

Bottom-of-the-table Droitwich could not field a team so Pershore claimed an automatic 3-0 win and three points.

Meanwhile, Bretforton ended in second spot in West Clubs Women's League Premier Division '2A' despite a 3-2 defeat at relegated Gloucester City seconds.

Bret went ahead when Terri Brown's shot was saved and Emma Lowe slotted home the rebound.

But they conceded swiftly before losing Deb Slatter and Daisy Wheeler to injury with captain Sarah Cook having to umpire.

Hard-working defenders Heather Carr, Liz Murray-White and Karen Fynn could not deny Gloucester two more goals.

Bret's second saw midfielders Hayley Whitehouse and Lisa Workman weave their way forward before the latter netted.

Keeper Vicky Watkins was voted player-of-the-match.

Bret were delighted with second place under coach Stuart Bearcroft after aiming for mid-table.

The seconds were promoted from Severn Division Three after also finishing runners-up.
