FORMER Evesham club member Alex Gregory claimed gold for Great Britain at the European Rowing Championships in Serbia.
The men’s four crossed the line in a European best time of five minutes 46.86 seconds as Andrew Triggs Hodge, George Nash, Mohamed Sbihi and Wormington’s Olympic champion Gregory led from the start.
Gregory, 30, said: "It's really exciting. I am really enjoying racing with these guys and being a part of this."
The new men’s eight combination, including Chipping Campden’s Matt Gotrel, closed out the event with bronze behind Olympic champions Germany and a strong Russian line-up.
Gotrel, 25, was joined by cox Phelan Hill, Pete Reed , Will Satch, Scott Durant, Oliver Cook, Phil Congdon, Mat Tarrant and James Foad.
GB topped the medals table in Belgrade with two golds, four silvers and two bronzes.
