THERE were fine wins for Evesham and Littletons in the Wildmoor Spa Men’s Tennis League Premier Division.

Second-placed Ardencote Manor lost 3-1 to Evesham, who moved to third place above Henley-in-Arden on sets difference.

Littletons boosted their relegation fight with a 3-1 win over Alcester, while leaders Stratford moved 15 points clear after a 4-0 victory over bottom side Inkberrow.

Evesham's John Clarke and Chris Francis lost to Ben Summers and John Brain, of Ardencote, 6-2, 7-6 but then beat Phil Silk and Christian Hardy 6-4, 6-1.

Andy Crowther and Simon Wall ensured Evesham's success by defeating Silk and Hardy 6-3, 6-1 and Summers and Brain 6-3, 6-2.

Littleton's Richard Herborn and Simon Blewitt lost to Alcester's Oliver Allman and Matt Poole 6-4, 6-2 but saw off Arthur Bennett and James Morley-Cottrell 6-1, 6-0.

Sean Witheford and Dave Rudge were too strong, beating Bennett and Morley-Cotterell 6-1, 6-1 and Allman and Poole 6-0, 7-6.

Stratford’s Callum Bailey and Chris Marrow overpowered Inkberrow's Jim Richardson and Matt Saunders 6-1, 6-1 and Gordon Keir and Chris Dixon 6-2, 6-1.

Tim Page and Will Moreley defeated Keir and Dixon 6-2, 6-3 and Richardson and Saunders 6-6-2, 6-3.

In Division One, third-placed Pershore drew with Aston Cantlow, who are fifth, 2-2.

Top team Moreton-in-Marsh 'A' drew 2-2 with Bidford 'A' in Division Two but beat HDA 'A' 4-0 to open up a 10-point lead.

Bottom side Claverdon 'B' held mid-table Bidford-on-Avon 'A' 2-2.

Division Three saw Ardencote 'B' stay five points clear at the top despite a 2-2 draw with bottom team Chipping Campden 'B'.

Second-placed Inkberrow 'B' were also held 2-2 by Wildmoor Spa 'A' and Ilmington thrashed FISSC 4-0.

Alcester 'C' beat Chipping Campden 'C' 3-1 in Division Four, while Division Five title challengers Pershore 'B' kept up the pressure with a 4-0 win over Inkberrow 'D'.

Fourth-placed Moreton-in-Marsh 'B' were beaten 3-1 by Bidford-on-Avon 'B'.

Meanwhile, Pershore won Pool 'C' in the league's junior cup through Antony Fordham and Dan Walker ahead of Evesham and Chipping Campden 'A'.

Campden 'B' were second in Pool 'B' as their pair Oscar Roberts and Archie Organ beat Henley 'B' 6-3 and Warwick 6-1 in the final round.

Littletons finished second in Pool 'D' with Bidford third and Ilmington fourth.

Liam Clear and Callum Bennett beat Ilmington's Ed Righton and Charlie Dews and Bidford's Adam Farrow and Alfie Lovett 6-0 in the last round.
