EVESHAM’S on-song golfer Oliver Farrell won the 65th Worcestershire Open at Hollywood.

The competition pits the best county amateurs against professionals over 36 holes.

Evesham professional Dan Clee scored 70 and 76 for a 146 total but Farrell completed rounds of 72 and 67 for a five-under-par 139 to win the Guy Bigwood Cup.

With Farrell taking the best score of 136 from winning the Amateur Championship, he also bagged the Secretaries Bowl with a total of 275 (-11).

Meanwhile, Eric Salter claimed The Vale seniors’ autumn trophy, the Committee Cup for lowest gross and a hole-in-one.

The twos competition went to Salter, Rob Sharp, Steve Kirby and Chris Hague. Vale beat The Worcestershire 5½-2½ as Sharp and Peter Richards won 7&6 and Mike Hird and David Hudson 6&5.

Trophy Division One: 1 Salter 79 gross 13 handicap 66 nett, 2 Sharp 80-11-69, 3 Tony Hampson 81-9-72.

Division Two: 1 Erle Andrews 85-16-69, 2 Martin Westwood 91-20-71, 3 John Milward 92-20-72.

Division Three: 1 Bill Ellis 95-27-68, 2 Martyn Cutmore 96-22-74, 3 Ray Jakeman 100-24-76.

Broadway’s Kathleen Stockdale Trophy was won by Debbie Donoghue with 38 points ahead of Henrietta Cooke (35) and Liz Smith (33).

The Saturday stableford went to Lin Andrew (37) in front of Annabelle Guyver (36).

The Alex Jeffrey Trophy foursomes medal was won by Alan and Sheila Lawson (70 nett) followed by Lyn Chambers and Ray Cordes (72.5) and Debbie and Bernie Donoghue (73).

The Sue Carter Quaich for best stableford went to Jude Vidler and John Richards with 37 points.
