CHIPPING Campden came out on top in the annual Gloucestershire women’s hockey competition in Cheltenham.

They triumphed in the round-robin tournament despite starting slowly with a 0-0 draw against Wotton-Under-Edge.

They got their act together to beat Lansdown 1-0 but then drew 0-0 with Cheltenham and lost 1-0 to Cirencester.

But the day improved with a 2-1 victory over Painswick and 4-1 win over Bourton and Sherbourne.

Second-placed Cirencester drew with Lansdown to ensure victory for Campden on goal difference by two after both recorded 11 points.
