TONY Smith hit top form to win Evesham Golf Club’s coveted Golf Club Bowl.

Smith triumphed in one of the toughest golf formats with a score of plus 4.

The trophy dates back to 1909, when it was first played.

The competition was hotly contested with six pairs coming in with a score of 39 points. Consequently the first, second and third places had to be decided on count back which was tough on the three pairs that missed out.

Lee and Declan Julif, from the Vale Golf Club, took the top honours.

Ludlow Golf Club’s Simon and Nathen Herdsfield finished second and in third place were Kingstone Golf Club duo Martin and Thomas Sperrink.
