BOURTON Roadrunners’ Steve Edwards has completed his 649th marathon and is on the verge of a European record.
Edwards recorded 3:19:02 at Helsingborg in Sweden and now needs one further sub-3:20 finish to become the first European to achieve the feat 400 times.
A determined bunch of Bourton Roadrunners took part in the Bugatti 10k race at Prescott Hill Climb in the County Road Race Series.
Tony Goodwill ran a strong 42:16 to take first place in the male veteran over-55 section. Niamh Shoemark ran speedy 44:49 to become the fourth female home and the first in the female veteran over-45 category.
Susan Hunt achieved a personal best time 46:01 (second female veteran over-45) and Steph Holton made her 47:41 (third female veteran over-50) look easy.
Chris Dry with 50:58 and Dave Turnbull 51:32 (third male veteran over-65) also impressed.
