PERSHORE won a second consecutive Warwick Printing Hockey League West Midlands Division One game with their best display of the season.

They triumphed 4-3 at mid-table rivals Leamington with Russell Scudamore scoring a late winner.

Pershore dominated the midfield early on through Jake Downey, Ed Deacon and man-of-the-match Rob Smith.

Gareth Rushton calmly finished off a short corner but Leamington levelled from a set-piece.

Pershore regained the lead when Deacon thundered home another short corner only for the hosts to equalise again and take the lead.

In the second half, Rushton got sixth-placed Pershore back into the game and captain Scudamore led them to victory with an unstoppable shot in the last few minutes.

Pershore visit county rivals Droitwich on Saturday.

Evesham are one place below their Vale rivals in seventh after a 3-0 defeat at Newtown. They host Bloxwich on Saturday.
