WYRE Barbedwyre have a narrow lead at the top of Evesham and District Association Specsavers Division Two, despite a 6-4 defeat to Wallace House Troopers.
Troopers’ Mandy Sylvester proved the difference, dropping only one set.
Littleton Panthers are second in the table following a 6-4 win over Littleton Bears and a 5-5 draw with Wyre Warriors.
Bears’ Paul Bruner won all three singles matches, coming back from 2-0 down against both Rosie Philpott and Sandra Jackson.
But Panthers’ strength in depth and the doubles partnership of Leanne Sully and Jackson proved enough to claim the contest.
Warriors’ Michael Jones took three wins against Panthers but Sully and Jackson battled to a doubles victory for the draw.
