TRAINER David Bridgwater was in the news for the right reasons at Plumpton when Bravo Riquet won the TV Focus At timeform.com Handicap Chase.

The former jockey was in hot water with the British Horseracing Authority last week over comments about the Ludlow stewards.

They had dished out a 21-day ban to 16-year-old amateur Jake Launchbury when he nearly took the wrong course on Bally Sands.

But the Stow-on-the-Wold handler is on the way to recording his highest total of winners for a season.

Bravo Riquet (10-11 favourite) is now two from two after winning under Tom Scudamore, and Bridgwater said: “I knew when the extra rain fell that it would suit him.”

Meanwhile, Lost Legend (12-1) provided a winner for Temple Guiting trainer Jonjo O’Neill at Kempton. He also scored on Saturday with Join The Clan (8-1) at Warwick.

Stow handler Graeme McPherson won a 3m handicap chase at Doncaster with Achimota (9-2).
