ROUND four of Broadway ladies’ winter league foursomes ended after nine holes due to driving sleet.
The players began in sunshine and scores remained useful in worsening conditions.
Sonia Ward and ladies’ vice-captain Brenda Whittingham won with 18 points.
Second on 15 were Liz Smith and Lyn Chambers, leaving Julia Fortescue and Sue Jackson third on count-back. Pat Green and Lin Everitt finished fourth on 13.
The men had a second attempt at their four-ball better-ball fifth round, which had been postponed by fog.
Mick Sandalls and Nigel Webley won with 47 points and just losing out on count-back in second place were James Powell and Alan Taggart. Terry Brotherton and Andy Mutch (44) followed on count-back in front of James Corvill and Joe Williams.
