CARL Saidler moved to the top of the Worcestershire Area snooker one-day tournament rankings after his second triumph of the season.
Saidler won the third of the four-event series by defeating fellow Evesham cueman Dean Powell 3-0 in the final, following up his success in the previous competition.
He heads the list going into the fourth tournament at Kidderminster’s Pockets Club on Sunday, March 1.
The top eight in the rankings will then compete in an end-of-season finale.
Saidler proved again to be a cut above the rest, playing 12 frames and losing only one when Worcester’s Dave Guise led in their quarter-final before losing 3-1.
The opening round saw Saidler hit a 53 break to eliminate Joe Cockerton, while further runs of 58 and 49 ended Tony Baylis’ challenge in the semi-finals.
Powell did not drop a frame en route to the final and is now second in the rankings.
