PERSHORE High School pupils Amy Weston and Jack Betteridge competed for the Royal Life Saving Society performance squad in Scotland.

Flyford Flavell’s Weston, 13, and Pershore’s Betteridge, 15, tackled the Scottish Regional Short Course Speed Competition.

Weston won golds in the 50-metre obstacle and 50m rescue medley and silvers in the manikin carry over 25m, 50m and team relay.

Betteridge, suffering from a bout of food poisoning, won gold medals in a relay medley and manikin carry.

The duo also trained at Commonwealth Games venue Tollcross International Swimming Centre, Glasgow.

They are to head to the national speed competition on March 7 and 8 at the Olympic Pool, London.
