AFTER 150 matches and 406 goals, the Cotswold Floorball League has come to an end for another season.

St James beat St Davids 7-4 to decide the ‘A’ team title after a close game.

With only eight minutes gone, the score was already 3-2 to St Davids, with Edward Churchill and Toby Stevens having more joy defensively.

Callum Martin had a good game and passed for Harry Winder to put St Davids ahead inside the first minute.

An unfortunate header caused a defender from the Moreton-in-Marsh side to be sent to the penalty bench, with Ryan Anderson equalising direct from a free hit.

Megan Jones set up Martin to regain the lead for St Davids and a long-range Winder effort made it 3-1.

Harry Ward slipped a short pass for Anderson to pull one back but then Martin followed up to score before half-time after keeper Kieran Rigg saved from Winder.

St Davids had another player sent to the sin-bin and George Lewis scored the best goal of the night for St James from a narrow angle after Anderson’s pass.

More ill-discipline from St Davids allowed Anderson to level the game and St James did not look back.

Anderson scored two quick goals and wrapped up the win with his sixth after good work from Ryan Kilmister.

The match was well refereed by Joshi Gibb and David Musgrave.

St Davids beat Ilmington 7-3 in the Cotswold League girls’ final after topping the qualifying table one point ahead of their opponents.

Lily Lewis flicked home the opener for Ilmington from Lauren Davis’ pass but Megan Jones quickly hit back from a free hit following several Alice Parr saves.

Aurora Sampson fed Davis to regain the lead for the Warwickshire side but Jones and Isobel Barnett began to dominate for Saints.

Barnett passed to Jones for three goals in less than two minutes and Ilmington could not recover.

Davis pulled one back but Barnett and Jones combined again to secure a 5-3 lead at half-time.

Ellie Stevens and Eleanor Duck defended well in the second period for St Davids, who extended their lead through Barnett and Jones.

The match was very well refereed by Great Britain players Georgia Palmer and Fran Musgrave.
