PERSHORE-based South Worcestershire attended the Great Britain Surf Life Saving Indoor Stillwater Championships in Bristol.

In the open and masters section, Luisa Petta, Mike Petta, Neil Metcalfe, Adey Mayhew, Abbi Jones and Rob Inett went for success.

They won one gold through multi-national life saving champion and record holder Inett in the 100m rescue tube and fun event.

OTHER MEDALS 100m freestyle with underwater obstacles: Mayhew bronze; relay: Mayhew, Metcalfe, Jones and Inett bronze.

12.5m rope throw: Mayhew and Metcalfe masters silver.

100m manikin carry with fins: M Petta 64 seconds PB.

Rescue medley: Metcalfe, Jones, Mayhew and Inett masters silver.

Meanwhile, 10 juniors competed in the National Lifesaving Championships in London.

Pershore High School’s Amy Weston won a bronze medal in the 100m rescue medley and Jack Betteridge also competed.

They are again in the Royal Life Saving Society United Kingdom performance squad this year.

The club’s 12 to 14 years boys’ team of Adam Turton, Alex Jackson, Ben Bevan and Connor Mehaffey were fifth in the rope throw. Lily Weston, Rhianne Gale and Jack Turton also competed.

The team go to the Surf Lifesaving Stillwater Championships on Saturday.
