MORETON-in-Marsh ace James Hurrell helped England men to win the British Darts Organisation’s British Internationals on his national debut.

He triumphed in both his games, beating Scotland’s Stevie Plank 4-2 and Welsh captain Martin Phillips 4-1 in a key clash that helped England claim the title.

They drew 6-6 with Scotland and beat hosts Wales 8-4 in the decider.

England men and women were both crowned champions in Merthyr.

The victories were the biggest achievement of Worcestershire player Hurrell’s career so far and boosted him ahead of the German Open and Masters this weekend.

He reached the Romanian Classic final this year and the Scottish Open last 16.
