THE Fladbury Bell Boat Regatta saw Pershore Rugby Club’s junior and senior players taking to the water.

The juniors were second in their heats before finishing 10th out of 18, while the seniors managed third spot.

Pershore will be at the town carnival on Monday with two floats and a stand in Abbey Park.

Meanwhile, Pershore also hosted a tag rugby tournament for five schools in wet conditions.

Pupils from Cherry Orchard, Defford, Holy Redeemer, Inkberrow and Pinvin played with determination and enthusiasm with close matches.

Pershore coaches had gone into the schools beforehand to teach them the sport’s basics.

Inkberrow won, with Holy Redeemer second and Cherry Orchard third.

On Friday, June 5, Pershore will host the School Games tag rugby for Years Five and Six, with 12 schools registered.
