BOURTON Vale celebrated their first West of England Premier Cricket League Gloucester Division victory of the season.

They moved up to second from bottom ahead of Gloucester AIW Sports courtesy of a three-wicket win at mid-table Lydney.

Chris Hughes (3-29), Ryan Newhook (2-21), John Dolan (2-26) and Nick Anderson (2-38) split the wickets as the hosts were bowled out for 171.

Captain Rob Langley (51 not out) and Newhook (31no) led Vale to victory inside 44 overs with 172-7.

The seconds lost to Lydney by 120 runs after their opponents amassed 310-4 in 45 overs before skipper Greg Shepherd starred with 63 in the reply of 190 all out.

Meanwhile, Exhall and Wixford went top of the Marston’s Pedigree Cotswold Hills League Premier Division after beating Broadway by seven wickets.

Shipston-on-Stour did not play and dropped to third.

Winchcombe fell to the bottom of Division One following a defeat to mid-table Rowington.

Chipping Campden maintained their position at the top of Division Two thanks to a 66-run win over Ebrington.

Moreton-in-Marsh suffered a seven-wicket loss to Wellesbourne seconds.

Blockley had an 18-run win against fellow strugglers Overbury seconds. Broadway seconds beat promotion-chasing Stoneleigh by two wickets.

Stanway leapt up to fourth with a seven-wicket defeat of Dorridge and Hockley Heath. Great Rissington lead Gloucestershire League Division Three after success over Fairford.

Replying to 191-6, Lachlan Fitzpatrick blasted 133no and Chris Bowen 45no in the villagers’ successful 194-1 in reply.

Adlestrop won by 14 runs in Cotswold District Association League Division One at Sherston Magna.

They scored 222-3 before they kept their opponents to 208-5.

Stow-on-the-Wold crashed to a 10-wicket defeat at Oakridge.

Andrew Phillips scored 141no for NATs yet they lost by five wickets to Oaksey.

Longborough and Sezincote scored a five-wicket triumph over Tetbury seconds.
