EVESHAM ‘A’ dropped to third place in the Wildmoor Spa Men’s Tennis League Premier Division after drawing their fourth consecutive match.
They were overtaken by Ardencote Manor ‘A’, with a better sets average following a 2-2 tie with Studley ‘B’, who moved off the bottom of the table.
Evesham’s Chris Francis and Simon Wall started well by beating Ollie Smith and Dave Douglas 6-1, 6-0, and Chris McGregor and Steve Hands 6-2, 6-1.
But the hosts’ second pair could not reach these standards, losing to McGregor and Hands 7-5, 7-6, and Smith and Douglas 6-1, 6-0.
Littletons ‘A’ slumped to the foot of the division with a 4-0 defeat to Alcester ‘A’, after Tim Kenneally and Alex Woodbridge beat Jack Phillpot and Simon Blewitt 6-2, 6-1, and Chris Elliott and Joe Sinclair 6-1, 6-1.
Alcester’s Gareth Price and Sam Allum saw off Elliott and Sinclair 6-2, 6-1, and Phillpot and Blewitt 6-1, 6-1.
Leaders Stratford ‘A’ increased the gap to four points with a 3-1 win over Studley ‘A’.
Moreton-in-Marsh ‘A’ maintained their four-point margin at the top of Division One thanks to a 4-0 win at fifth-placed Snitterfield ‘A’, while nearest challengers Pershore ‘A’ beat bottom team Aston Cantlow ‘A’ 4-0.
In Division Two, fifth-placed Inkberrow ‘B’ defeated bottom side Shipston-on-Stour ‘A’ 4-0 and FISSC drew 2-2 with Chipping Campden ‘A’.
Ilmington drew 2-2 in Division Three at Henley ‘B’ and Chipping Campden ‘B’ moved away from the relegation zone by beating Alcester ‘C’ 3-1.
Division Four changed leaders again as HDA Redditch ‘B’ reached 20 points after a one-sided 4-0 victory over bottom team Chipping Campden ‘C’.
Claverdon ‘C’ slid down to second following their 2-2 draw with Moreton ‘B’, who climbed to sixth place by overtaking Bidford-on-Avon ‘A’.
Littletons ‘B’ moved up to fifth after convincingly beating Bidford 4-0.
In Division Five, high-flying HDA Redditch ‘C’ beat bottom side Shipston ‘B’ 3-1, while Bidford ‘B’ and Moreton ‘C’ remain third and fourth respectively after they drew 2-2.
Evesham ‘B’ moved closer to Inkberrow ‘D’ in sixth after beating them 3-1.
