EVESHAM Vale Triathletes’ Emily Burton bagged second spot in her category in the Vitality World Triathlon London at Hyde Park.
She was the youngest competitor in the 16 to 21 year age group in the open Olympic distance, which covered a 1.5-kilometre swim, 40km bike section and 10km run.
Despite appalling weather conditions and 30 opponents, Burton, who thanked her parents and coach Richard Goode for their support, finished runner-up and only missed out on first place by two seconds.
