EVESHAM ‘A’ slipped down to fourth in the Wildmoor Spa Men’s League Premier Division after a 2-2 draw with Ardencote Manor ‘A’.

Leaders Stratford consolidated their four-point lead with a 4-0 whitewash of bottom side Studley ‘B’, while the other relegation candidates appear to be Littletons ‘A’ following a 4-0 defeat to Studley ‘A’.

Evesham’s John Clarke and Chris Francis lost their opening rubber to Ben Summers and John Brain 1-6, 6-3, 1-0 (10-8) and also fell to Myles Wilcox-Smith and Christian Hardy 7-6, 6-4.

Andy Crowther and veteran Ray Foster-Morison recovered the match by beating Wilcox-Smith and Hardy 6-1, 6-4 and Summers and Brain 6-2, 4-6, 1-0 (10-6).

Studley ‘A’ duo Damian Hampton and Paul Farmer defeated Littletons’ Simon Blewitt and Shaun Sinclair 6-4, 6-4 and Jamie Clear and Liam Clear 6-0, 6-0.

Dave Douglas and Mark Willmore defeated the Clears 6-0, 6-0 and Blewitt and Sinclair 7-5, 6-1.

Division One leaders Moreton-in-Marsh ‘A’ remained two points clear after their match with Whitnash was rained off.

Pershore ‘A’ joined Claverdon in second spot by beating fifth-placed Inkberrow ‘A’ 3-1.

Ardencote ‘B’ moved up to second in Division Two after a 4-0 thumping of relegation-threatened Inkberrow ‘B’.

FISSC thrashed bottom side Shipston-on-Stour ‘A’ 4-0 and Chipping Campden ‘A’ did the same to Stratford ‘B’.

Henley-in-Arden ‘B’ moved clear in third in Division Three after a 3-1 win over Chipping Campden ‘B’, while Ilmington beat Wildmoor Spa ‘A’ 4-0 in a bottom-two clash.

Previous leaders HDA Redditch ‘B’ drew 2-2 with Pershore ‘B’ in Division Four, while Claverdon ‘C’ eased to a 4-0 victory over Bidford-on-Avon ‘B’.

Inkberrow ‘C’ drew 2-2 with Moreton-in-Marsh ‘B’ and Littleton ‘B’ defeated fellow strugglers Chipping Campden ‘C’ 4-0.

In Division Five, HDA ‘C’ beat Moreton-in-Marsh ‘B’ 3-1 and Warwick saw off joint-bottom Shipston-on-Stour ‘B’ 4-0.

Wildmoor Spa ‘B’ brushed aside the other strugglers Evesham ‘B’ 4-0 and Bidford-on-Avon ‘B’ drew 2-2 with Inkberrow ‘D’.

Meanwhile, the Junior Cup play-offs took place in a heatwave at Littletons between the winners of the four pools.

Reigning champions HDA Redditch topped the semi-final group and face Henley in the final on Sunday, September 6.

Evesham’s Ben Shepherd and Manny Winstone beat Stratford’s William Noyes and Joe Pinnock 6-1, but lost 7-5 to Henley’s Alex Evans and Louis Walsh.

They were 4-1 up against HDA duo Scott Mortimer and Harvey Ravenscroft only to fall 6-4 and finish third.
