EVESHAM’S Frances Russell and Flo Pickles won the Diamond Jubilee Challenge Cup at Henley Royal Regatta with Gloucester-Hartpury women’s quad.
Having already taken the national schools and Henley women’s regatta senior quad titles this season, the quartet of Russell, 17, Alice Bowyer, 18, Charlotte Hodgkins-Byrne, 18, and Pickles,18, completed a treble.
They got off to a flying start against Sir William Borlase Grammar School, Marlow, in the quarter-finals with a comfortable victory.
The girls beat American national champions Y Quad Cities in the semis before seeing off old rivals Marlow in the final.
Pickles now starts her training with the Great Britain under-23s lightweight girls’ team at Caversham, near Reading.
Meanwhile, Russell heads into trials for the GB junior team.
