EVESHAM ‘A’ broke their run of draws to reclaim second spot in the Wildmoor Spa Men’s Tennis League Premier Division with a 4-0 win over Studley ‘A’.

Stratford look set to claim the title with a five-point lead but Evesham replaced Studley ‘A’ behind them, with Andy Crowther and John Clarke beating Mark Willmore and Paul Farmer 6-2, 6-4 and Martyn Richards and Steve Smith 6-1, 6-0.

Evesham captain Ray Foster-Morison and Jack Crosley defeated Richards and Smith 6-2, 6-1 and Willmore and Farmer 7-5, 3-6, 1-0 (10-8).

Littletons ‘A’ look doomed to relegation with Studley ‘B’ after losing 4-0 to Ardencote Manor, who moved back to joint third place.

Ardencote captain Myles Wilcox-Smith and Christian Hardy beat Simon Blewitt and Shaun Witheford 7-6, 6-4 and Joe Sinclair and Chris Elliott 6-1, 6-4.

John Turner and Ben Summers defeated Sinclair and Elliott 6-2, 6-2 and Blewitt and Witheford 6-3, 6-2.

Moreton-in-Marsh ‘A’ took a big step towards the Division One title by beating third-placed Pershore ‘A’ 4-0.

They also won a rearranged match 3-1 against Whitnash, who replaced Inkberrow in fifth after beating them 3-1.

In Division Two, HDA Redditch ‘A’ maintained their five-point lead with a 4-0 win over bottom side Shipston-on-Stour ‘A’.

Chipping Campden ‘A’ leapt up to fourth with a 3-1 win over relegation-threatened Inkberrow ‘B’.

Claverdon ‘B’ remained second in Division Three after a 4-0 victory over struggling Chipping Campden B (16).

Alcester ‘C’ moved to joint fifth with Ilmington after defeating them 4-0.

HDA Redditch ‘B’ won 3-1 against second-from-bottom Bidford-on-Avon ‘A’ and are joint top of Division Four with Inkberrow ‘C’, who trounced bottom side Chipping Campden ‘C’ 4-0.

Claverdon ‘C’ fell to third after losing 3-1 to fourth-placed Pershore ‘B’ and Littletons ‘B’ moved away from the relegation zone by beating Moreton-in-Marsh ‘B’ 4-0.

High-flying Warwick beat Inkberrow ‘D’ 4-0 in Division Five and Moreton-in-Marsh ‘C’ remained third with a 4-0 defeat of basement side Evesham ‘B’.

Mid-table Bidford-on-Avon ‘B’ drew 2-2 at home to Shipston-on-Stour ‘B’.
