PERSHORE Tennis Centre’s eight-year-old Caoimhe Guppy is impressing on the court.
She topped the nine and under girls’ summer county leaderboard and qualified for a national grade two event in Leeds.
Guppy, whose family all play tennis at the centre, received a medal and winning towel as a result.
She also won her first grade three competition.
Her coach Mike Langston said: “I am very proud of the hard work and commitment she has shown to her tennis.
“Having the opportunity to play on a national stage is a fitting reward.
“We are lucky to have someone like Caoimhe as part of our programme and look forward to seeing more success from her and the rest of our players in coming months and years.”
Centre committee members Peter Corbishley and Brian Parker were given the long service and volunteer of the year awards respectively at the Herefordshire and Worcestershire Lawn Tennis Association dinner.
