A STRONG squad of 15 from Pershore Swimming Club travelled to Hengrove, Bristol, for a high-class meet.

Top talent flocked to the event, which was just before the close of the qualification window for the National Short Course Championships.

Pershore acquitted themselves admirably with 21 medals, including 11 golds. The Annis family were the stars with 16 medals.

David Annis, nine, won eight golds in the 50-metre backstroke (40.53 seconds), 50m butterfly (37.53), 50m freestyle (35.15s), 100m backstroke (1.29.53), 100m individual medley (1.29.41), 200m individual medley (3.05.20), 200m backstroke (3.00.62) and 50m breaststroke (50.33).

Lauren Annis, 10, took golds in the 50m freestyle (33.46) and 50m backstroke (36.90).

She also won silver in the 200m backstroke (3.03.02) and bronzes in the 50m butterfly (37.97) and 100m freestyle (1.12.99).

Megan Annis, 12, collected silvers in the 50m butterfly (32.28) and the 100m individual medley (1.13.59).

She also took bronze in the 100m butterfly with 1.13.73 taking her to rank six in the West Midlands for 2015.

Alex Barry, 12, bagged gold in the 100m individual medley (1.13.54) and bronze in the 400m individual medley with 5.36.35, lifting her to fifth in the region.

Gabriella Barry, 10, secured silver in the 50m butterfly (37.88).

Simon Sweatman, 13, won gold in the 200m backstroke (2.18.08) and bronze in the 100m backstroke (1.05.51).

Other PBs were recorded by Hannah Woodcock, Bella Woodcock, Jasmine Franks, Naomi Marsden, Izzy Cumming, Helena Leach, Amy Weston, Luke Perry and Cameron Leach.
