WORCESTERSHIRE’S Adam Hill was crowned an age-group champion at the British Short Track Speed Skating Championships.
The 11-year-old year six pupil at St Nicholas Middle School, Pinvin, headed to the National Ice Centre, Nottingham, for the competition.
The Inkberrow youngster competed in the 222-metre, 333m and 500m distances involving heats, a semi-final and final with nine races in total.
Hill, who is coached by Winter Olympian Tom Iveson, won all nine races, setting personal bests in all three distances.
He is now Great Britain’s national champion in his age group and has established himself as British number one in the junior E age category.
Hill trains at Silver Blades, Solihull, and competes for the Mohawks club, who currently contribute several skaters to the national squad.
