DAVE Pyne’s five-wicket haul fired Shipston-on-Stour Cricket Club to a 60-run win at Alcester and Ragley in the Cotswold Hills League Premier Division.
Marcus Ireland top scored with 66 for Shipston, who reached 220 and then Pyne helped to shoot out the hosts for 160 on a hot day at Ragley Hall.
Shipston are now joint third in the table heading into middle of the season and host fifth-placed Leek Wootton on Saturday.
Ireland was the mainstay of Shipston’s innings, but Jack Murphy (32), Gary Betteridge (32), Harry Dube (25) and Nick Hibberd (23) contributed against good bowling from Swinburn (3-29) and Cooke (2-51).
A bright opening burst from Richard Bryan (3-31) and Luke Canning (2-41) reduced the hosts to 50-5.
Dipple (31), Jackson (36) and Wright (20) gave Alcester hope, but Pyne bagged three wickets in seven balls to wrap up the win.
