LAURA Moore’s hat-trick fired Evesham & Badsey Ladies to a 3-2 victory over Cheltenham IV.

The hosts shipped the opener but soon picked up the pace with a second short corner resulting in Moore sweeping home to level the scores by half-time.

Cheltenham moved back in front during a flurry at the start of the second half and Lucy Treverrow, Caitlyn Clarke and Zoe Miller all called upon to produce heroics at the back until the pendulum swung with a series of short corners preceding Moore’s second.

The match looked destined for a draw but the quick pace suited Evesham & Badsey and player of the match Moore ran in a third from another short corner to decide matters at the death.

Evesham & Badsey Badgers Reds registered a 5-0 victory over their Redditch counterparts courtesy of Ben Robinson’s treble and two from Harvey Sagar.

Robinson rattled in the opener from a short corner and then rounded off a speedy run and play from Finn McIntyre before completing his hat-trick.

Emma Womersley’s tireless work in midfield protected the backline to prevent Redditch from finding any gaps and Sagar made it four from a short corner before rounding off the scoring in style with a fine solo effort.

Next up for the Reds Badgers is a trip to Stourport on Saturday (4pm).

Evesham & Badsey men’s seconds racked up a fourth win of the season in style by battering Gloucester 5-0 to move up to fifth in the table.

Gloucester started on the front foot but Evesham & Badsey struck first through Andy Mabbett courtesy of some slick build-up from Andy Osborne and Paul Grummitt.

Rich Hall made a two via a deflection after a similar move and Ali Sanderson made it three with a blast from just inside the D.

Wayne Betteridge and Rich Fear were called upon to produce some stout defending and when the backline was breached, keeper Charlie Priestley was in equally-fine form.

Evesham & Badsey picked up the pace again and showed their opponents how to finish with Osborne picking up the ball in midfield and laying it off for Downie to beat two defenders from the right and cut back for Osborne to fire home from a narrow angle. Sanderson's lob from a goalmouth scramble made it five late on.

SAM Brealey's late strike proved scant consolation for Evesham & Badsey Badgers Whites in Saturday's 5-1 loss at Old Hales.

The visitors started well enough but got punished on the counter attack. Ellie Overfield, Chelsea Southall and Kian Baker all pushed for a first half goal but Old Hales created their own dominant spell and showed no mercy to lead 4-0 at the break.

Evesham defended several short corners well after the restart with player of the match Mollie Cresswell putting in a strong shift.

Old Hales scored another despite the best efforts of Max Print and Joseph Buttigieg before Brealey slammed home for Evesham.

The club is also looking for volunteers to umpire matches.

Course costs will be reimbursed for those who go on to officiate for Evesham & Badsey. Contact umpire secretary Rich Hall via email to register your interest: ebhcfixtures@gmail.com
