THE equestrian team at Pershore High School have been impressing.

They competed in the county show jumping qualifiers for Worcestershire in numerous classes.

Pershore were fourth team in the one-metre section with Grace Plowman second individually.

Plowman was also third in the 1.10m pony class.

The team then competed in the county dressage qualifier.

Last-minute changes meant some had no preparation in a strictly-marked and competitive class.

But they scooped a team fourth place with Georgina Kilmister getting joint sixth position.

Plowman also did the Bury Farm Bareback Challenge in Leighton Buzzard, a big charity event in memory of Russell Pearson.

She competed against lots of the top riders around a course show jumping with no saddle.

Not only was Plowman quick, the last fence was worth more points depending on the height jumped.

She went for it clearing the 1.20m jump and at 15 years old won the class, scooping £500 prize money.
