BREDON Hill Academy’s under-13 girls finished fourth in the Team Table Tennis National Finals in Hinckley on Saturday.
Despite wins from Beth Pye, Rebecca Arrandale and Emily Grove, Bredon lost 5-3 to The Priory Ruskin Academy from Grantham ahead of a tough test against Wade Deacon High School, Widnes, who featured two of the nation’s top 20 players.
Pye, Grove and Rebecca Arrandale each bagged another win apiece but it was to no avail in a 5-3 setback that featured close, enthralling encounters.
A 4-4 draw with Sacred Heart Catholic School, Southwark, followed with Sophie Arrandale among the winners. Bredon missed out on third place to Sacred Heart 17-13 on count back of games won.
