OVERBURY are preparing for the new outdoor season on their six-rink green.

They will host an open day on Sunday from 2pm when people can give the sport a go.

The green was officially opened for the new year by club president Penelope Bossom, of Overbury Estate.

Overbury fielded five teams in the indoor leagues at Littleton during the winter.

They hold club nights on Mondays and friendlies for members on Wednesday mornings.

Overbury, based near the village’s cricket club, also host skittles evenings, whist drives and fun days.

They field outdoor teams in the Worcestershire Concorde League, the South Worcestershire Triples League and the county leagues.

Overbury aim for higher after finishing second in the triples and reaching some of the county quarter and semi-finals in 2017.

Meanwhile, there will be an open day at Evesham on Saturday at 2pm to celebrate the new outdoor season.

Everyone is welcome to try bowls at the Blind Lane club with a bar and cake available alongside a raffle.

Littleton hold a bring a friend afternoon on Saturday at 2pm.
