PERSHORE Tennis Centre’s Brad Smith has won the Midlands Regional Young Volunteer of the Year.
Smith claimed the Herefordshire and Worcestershire LTA award earlier this year and will now represent the region in the nominations for the national awards later in 2018.
The team at Pershore nominated him for his work with the club and the groups they run.
Smith said: “This award is not only for myself but also for the club and for its work with both New Hope and the young disability group on a Saturday morning.”
Meanwhile, Pershore starred in the first round of the Wildmoor Spa League’s Junior Cup pool matches.
At Evesham in Pool C, Pershore dominated as Toby Atkins and Tom Edwards beat Evesham A 6-1, Evesham B 6-2 and Redditch A 6-1.
Evesham A’s Jamie Woodcock and Joshua Rushby are second after they defeated Redditch A 6-0 and Evesham B 6-3.
Joseph Wilson and Daniel Wilde salvaged a victory for Evesham B over Redditch A.
