NORTH Cotswold Tri and Run's Roger Day won his men's veteran over 70s age category at the Mallorca Ironman 70.3 triathlon.

Day clocked a time of six hours 47 minutes seven seconds and qualified to represent Great Britain at the world championships later this year.

Also competing was his daughter Marianne Badge and her partner Daniel Badger with them finishing in 5.37.49 and 5.54.40 respectively.

Lucy Walmsley competed in the DBMax Olympic distance event and won her women's veteran over 45s age category with second overall in 2.18.

Pauline Teague also won in her women's veterans over 60s age category at the Tri Ferris Cotswold super sprint event.

At the Shakespeare Marathon, Mike Hobbs smashed his personal best by over six minutes with 3.04.58 to finish third in his men's veterans over 45s age category.

Steve Edwards ran his 822nd marathon and did 3.21.31 for fourth men's veteran over 55.

In the half marathon, Chris Krzywiec clocked 1.17.57 for second men's veteran over 35 while his partner Kate ran well to finish in 1.29.10 for third women's veteran over 35.

The Tewkesbury half marathon saw Pippa Brown run a new PB by over five minutes as she finished in 1.51.51.

James Dunn ran a new PB of more than two minutes at the Silverstone 10k with a time of 51.21.

Sue Whitehill also did well in the Bristol 10k with 1.07.25 in her first run back since returning from injury.

Meanwhile, 10 Bourton Roadrunners took part in the Berkeley 10k.

First in was Tim Carter in fifth position overall in 34.38.

Steph Lane was third woman in 39.18 while Darren Long clocked 39.58, Chris Lomax 42.53, Margaret Hollamby (second women's veteran over 60) 46.57, Graham Lane 50.29, Nick Harper 52.42, Liz Hulcup (first women's veteran over 65) 53.12, Dave Turnball 55.54 and Linda Edwards 56.20.

Lee Stopford from Stroud and District won the men's race in 33.04 and Eilidh Bell from Team Bath AC took the women's honours in 37.30.
