PERSHORE Phoenix Dragon Boat Club's Pauline Young has a double cause for celebration.
Young has been selected for the Great Britain senior squad and also won a gold medal in the Philippines at the 12th Boracay International Dragonboat Festival.
Taking on teams from around the world, she won with team-mates in the masters 10-seater standard boat competition and was fourth overall in the international category.
Young then tackled a set of trials on the River Thames and won through to represent GB at the European Championships in Brandenburg, Germany, in August.
Arden Sailing Club-based Pershore are always looking for new paddlers who can email phoenixdragonboat@hotmail.co.uk or head to training on Sundays at 9.30am or Tuesdays or Wednesdays at 6.30pm.
