BREDON Star returned to winning ways in Gloucester Division One with a 19-15 home triumph over Gloucester Old Boys.

Tim Fenney kicked a long penalty before a fine solo try from Mike Jordan.

Star conceded a converted effort but man-of-the-match Dodge Antonelli hit back by crashing over from close range.

Old Boys scored from a line-out to make it 13-12 at half-time.

The teams traded penalties in the second period before Jordan pulled off a match-winning tackle.

Meanwhile, Pershore lost 41-31 at Shipston-on-Stour in Midlands Three West (South) and Evesham fell 20-7 at Atherstone in Midlands Four West (South).

Pershore veterans enjoyed a three-try triumph at Huddersfield in a tour match.

Nick Green, Wayne Stammers and John Robertson crossed the whitewash for Pershore.

They put in a strong second-half showing to seal a 19-14 victory against Huddersfield YMCA Nomads.

In youth rugby, Evesham Under-13s beat Malvern 26-5 despite missing key players through injury and illness.

The pack impressed with the back row outstanding in defence and attack.

The victory was down to strong team work with Jake Smith scoring three tries and James Carsberg one.

Matty Farrell kicked three conversions, while full back Giles Mole capped a fine team display on his debut.

The Under-14s triumphed 43-5 at Shrewsbury in the North Midlands Cup preliminary round.

AJ Corbett, Owain Hann (3), Morgan French and player-of-the-match George McNally (2) scored tries.

James Icke and Hann (3) added conversions.

Evesham Under-16s had a tough 36-0 loss at home to Luctonians in the cup.

But the pack, led by captain Marcus Harris, were more than a match, while player-of-the-match Lewis Garood made a try-saving tackle.

The Under-15s lost 17-12 to Claverdon despite dominating most of the match.

Mikey Godliman and player-of-the-match Will Moreland scored tries with Will Bugg adding a conversion.
