HEAD coach Carl Hogg believes Worcester Warriors will need an 80-minute display to topple Munster ‘A’ in Cork tomorrow (7.30pm).

Warriors are on the brink of qualifying for the quarter-finals of the British and Irish Cup after winning their opening four matches in Pool Three.

A last-gasp try from Sam Betty gave Warriors a narrow 27-23 against Munster when the teams met at Sixways in October.

Warriors have won 11 successive games in all competitions but struggled in the second-half of outings against Midlands rivals Moseley, Jersey and Plymouth Albion.

Hogg said: “We have not quite been able to nail the second-half in the last two or three weeks.

“This Friday is an opportunity for us to put together an 80-minute performance.

“It was a game of two halves against Moseley. It’s something we have looked to address and hopefully it will rectify itself at the weekend.

“I think it will take an 80-minute performance to beat a side like Munster at their place.”

Hogg has already revealed former Wales international Jonathan Thomas and England cap Chris Pennell are likely to be rested but says he will pick a balanced squad.

“We have gone for a balance of experience as well as some of the young lads who deserve the right to go out there,” he said.

“We are under no illusions that it will be a really tough test.”

Argentinian duo Gus Creevy and Leonardo Senatore have returned to Sixways this week after the Pumas’ European tour in which they defeated France.

Hogg said: “The Argentinians have had a heavy workload in the autumn internationals which came on the back of the Rugby Championship.

“They have both been back in training this week but we’re mindful they need rest and recuperation and we will probably look to involve them over the next couple of weeks.”
