EVESHAM under 13s put up a determined effort against a strong Stow team but were unfortunate to lose 58-24.

The game was played in perfect conditions for running rugby and Stow took an early lead.

Evesham rallied but the game turned when Stow scored against the run of play.

However, James Costall excelled again with a hat-trick of tries for the Vale side and Toby Turner also dived over.

James Carsberg kicked two conversions.

Evesham under 15s lost 50-7 at Alcester with Will Evans voted player-of-the-match after a hard-fought contest.

Alcester’s strong, fast back-line proved the difference but the game was more even in the battle for the ball and breakdown.

Second row Tom Shepherd drove over for an early try, while captain Will Moreland led from the back row.

Flankers Ben Gregson and Evans got their hands dirty throughout. Fly-half Will Bugg put in a fine display of kicking from hand.
