WORCESTER Cavaliers booked their place in the Aviva A- League final after a 37-26 victory over Bath United at Sixways.

The Cavaliers hit back from 13-10 down at the break to storm home after second-half tries from Josh Drauniniu, Mat Gilbert, Leonardo Senatore and Charlie Mulchrone.

Worcester have secured a first-ever Aviva A-League final and will face Saracens Storm at Sixways next Monday.

Bath started strongly and took the lead after five minutes as scrum-half Will Homer split the posts with a penalty from 25 metres out, but Iganico Mieres equalised with a drop-kick.

Cavalier took the lead when James Percival bundled his way over from close range and Mieres dispatched the conver - sion as Sam Vesty’s side raced to a 10-3 lead.

After visiting fly-half Rory Jennings kicked crossfield, winger Lane was on hand to take the ball over the line.

A spell of pressure ensued for the visitors and they took the lead on the half-hour mark as replacement wing Marcus Beer took advantage of another kick from Jennings.

The Sixways side attacked from the off in the second period and Jean-Baptiste Bruzulier moved the ball out to Percival on the right and flanker Gilbert was on hand to force his way over to put the hosts in the lead once again.

Mieres converted before Homer hit back with a penalty.

Worcester’s second string were rewarded with a third try as Ben Howard raced through before teeing up winger Drauniniu.

Homer kept the scoreboard ticking over for Bath with his third penalty as the game con - tinued to hang in the balance.

But it was the hosts who looked the most likely to get the next score and a precise kick across the pitch from Grove sat up nicely for number eight Senatore to score.

Mieres added a penalty with less than 10 minutes remaining for a 30-19 Cavaliers lead.

The visitors were reduced to 12 temporarily as Max Northcote-Green and Guy Mercer were yellow-carded, while Micky Young was shown red.

The Cavaliers seized their chance to make the game safe as Richard de Carpen - tier strolled through the away defence before gifting Mulchrone with a try.

Mieres converted before Olly Woodburn added a consolation try for the visitors.
