VALE student Joshua Greatrix capped a fine season by winning the British Universities and Colleges Sport (BUCS) National Championship final.
The Leeds Beckett University hooker, who started playing at Evesham, helped them to a 31-23 victory over Loughborough at Twickenham.
Loughborough led 23-5 at half-time as Leeds looked to be finishing runners-up for the second time.
But they were a different team in the second period and dominated through their forwards with 26 unanswered points.
Leeds won the BUCS Northern Premiership title and ex-Prince Henry’s High School pupil Greatrix, 22, was named president of the club.
Meanwhile, solid forward defence and good kicking helped Evesham under 16s beat Bromsgrove 26-15 at home.
George Guy (2), Glenn Harvey and player-of-the-match Conor Armento scored tries with Gio Capaldi converting three.
