ACADEMY scrum-half Jamie Shillcock is poised to be on the bench for Worcester Warriors’ Championship play-off semi-final second leg at Sixways tomorrow (7.45pm).

With Charlie Mulchrone (broken foot) ruled out for the rest of the season and Jonny Arr expected to be suspended, the Warwick School pupil has been registered for the tie against London Scottish.

Jean-Baptiste Bruzulier is to start at scrum-half because Arr was due before a Rugby Football Union disciplinary hearing last night after being cited for an alleged tip-tackle.

Centre Andy Symons suffered a leg injury in training and will miss the match.

Warriors lead Scottish 27-22 after the first leg and director of rugby Dean Ryan is urging his players to “understand their responsibilities” in the return match.

Arr, James Percival and Mike Williams were dis patched to the sin-bin last Saturday and Jonathan Thomas and Cooper Vuna were shown yellow cards the previous weekend as Warriors slipped to a narrow loss against Bristol.

“We had three yellow cards against Scottish which is un acceptable,” said Ryan.

“The players need to under stand their responsibilities and the timing and impact it has at this time of the year.”

“Things are influencing our impact and chances of get ting through. We have to get that right this week.”

Warriors chief executive Jim O’Toole has appealed for fans to come together to be Worcester’s 16th man.

He said: “We always knew that the play-offs would throw us some curveballs. These unlikely and unfortunate circumstances have all gone against us and we now face a real challenge to qualify for the play-off final as we’ll be without some of our key players.

“We’ve got some experienced heads out there but we’ll also have youngsters on the pitch who will need the crowd to give them all the support they can.

“I would urge any supporter who hasn’t committed yet to get a ticket and sing their heart out on Friday.  This is not about ticket sales or revenues, it’s backs- to-the wall time, and about being there to get the boys across the line."

Warriors led 17-3 after 27 minutes in Saturday’s tie and appeared to be coasting to a routine victory.

However, Scottish bagged three tries before a late penal ty try edged Worcester ahead.

Full-back Chris Pennell (knee) and centre Max Stel ling (hamstring) remain side lined, while Thomas is avail able after a one-match ban.

Warriors secured a 56-15 win against Scottish when the teams met at Sixways six weeks ago but the Exiles were in the contest at the interval.

Meanwhile, two ten-minute periods of extra-time will be played if the aggregate scores in the tie remain level after 80 minutes.

Should the scores remain equal after extra-time, the team with the higher aggre - gate number of tries over the two legs will be determine the winner.

If the aggregate score and number of tries by each team over the two legs re main equal after extra-time, a place-kicking competition will be held.
