WORCESTERSHIRE Rapids go in search of a fifth straight NatWest T20 Blast victory tonight.

The New Road side have won their last four matches in the format to storm to the top of the North Group ahead of the trip to bottom side Derbyshire Falcons (7pm).

It is the first time they have won four on the spin in the 20-over arena as they aim to strengthen their claim for a quarter-final spot.

Their efforts have been even more impressive given the Rapids began the competition with back-to-back defeats to Durham Jets and Lancashire Lightning.

But Steve Rhodes’ men responded in style with victories over Nottinghamshire Outlaws, the holders Northamptonshire Steelbacks and Leicestershire.

They then saw off Durham at New Road last Saturday through Ross Whiteley's six with two balls left.

Director of cricket Rhodes said: “A run of four wins is really good in that type of competition, they are tough games to win.

“In the first two games, although there were some elements we didn’t nail, there were signs we weren’t far off.

“Even though we lost them it was just a case of trying to continue playing like that and get some points on the board.

“We have had four good wins but know how important the next game is and need to make sure we win that one.”

Gareth Andrew, who paved the way for success against Durham with a six and four in successive balls in the final over, will once again only feature as a batsman.
