"SHAW, Williams, prepared to venture down the left. There's a good ball in for Tony Morley. Oh it must be, it is! It's Peter Withe."

The piece of TV commentary by Brian Moore that described Aston Villa's winning goal against Bayern Munich in the 1982 European Cup final in Rotterdam.

That commentary is highlighted via a massive banner across the North Stand at Villa Park.

And Worcestershire CCC supporters will have the opportunity to hear the thoughts of goal creator Tony Morley and keeper Nigel Spink during an Aston Villa Legends Night on Thursday in the Graeme Hick Pavilion.

Pie and chips will be served before Morley and Spink relive their memories as they are interviewed by team-mate Andy Blair, offering an insight into that famous night in Rotterdam.

It was a golden era for Villa who in 1980-81 under manager Ron Saunders won the League Championship using just 14 players.

They also thrashed Barcelona 4-0 in the 1982-83 European Super Cup and made an honourable defence of their European Cup triumph in reaching the quarter-finals before losing to Juventus.

The night will conclude with a Q&A session in which guests will be able to pose questions to their heroes, and a raffle will also take place with some exciting prizes up for grabs.

Tickets are still available for this event and are priced at just £35 per person or £300 for a table of ten. For details, call Paul Biggerstaff on 07706 712219.
