DIRECTOR of basketball Paul James watched Worcester Wolves book their place in the British Basketball League play-off final and then declare his team can play even better.

Wolves defeated Sheffield Sharks 67-60 at the University Arena at the weekend to complete a 146-119 aggregate victory.

It sets up a mouth-watering match against BBL champions Newcastle Eagles at Wembley Arena on Sunday.

James, whose side trailed by 15 points at one stage during the second leg, said: "I still think there's a lot more to come from us.

"We have patches when we don't focus as much as we should but overall I can't grumble, we've got to a play-off final against Newcastle.

"It's arguably the two best teams in the country this season and that's the way those finals should be."

He continued: "I'm just incredibly proud of the players. We've worked hard from day one when we played Leicester at the arena to the bitter end and getting through to the play-off final.

"It's something you dream about but I am proud of them, the organisation and the fantastic support, which was probably the best we've had all year on Sunday.

"We didn't want to lose the game and go through just on aggregate, we wanted to win the home game and that's why we fought so hard to try to get back into it.

"I thought we were brilliant at the end of the third and fourth quarter, the crowd really got into it and it was a party atmosphere."
