WORCESTER Wolves ended 2014 on a winning note as they defeated Leeds Force 68-58 to make it back-to-back British Basketball League victories.

Paul James’ side maintained second spot in the table with the University Arena triumph, although they have lost three more games than leaders Newcastle Eagles.

But, following Tuesday’s 86-82 victory at Leicester Riders, Wolves head into 2015 and Sunday’s trip to Plymouth Raiders in fine spirits.

Jamal Williams led the way against struggling Leeds with 18 points, while Chavis Holmes chipped in with 14 and captain Alex Owumi 13 in a low-scoring contest.

The sides were locked at 14-14 at the end of the fist quarter but the hosts led 33-25 at half-time.

Leeds won the third quarter 18-17 to cut their deficit to 50-43 heading into the final stanza and Worcester eventually prevailed by 10 points.

New signing Paul Guede, who registered 11 points, five rebounds and five assists on his debut against Leicester, managed just two points and five rebounds on his first showing in front of the Hylton Road crowd.

Defeat was Leeds' 13th in 16 matches since joining the league.

Their top-scorer was James McCann with 14 points.
