POINT guard Jordan Aaron says he is hoping to feed off the Worcester Wolves crowd as he bids to become a “general” on the court.

The new signing will make his first appearance in front of the University of Worcester Arena faithful when Wolves take on Plymouth Raiders tomorrow night (7.30pm).

Since arriving from America earlier this month, Aaron made a memorable debut against Leeds Force, scoring 23 points, before facing British Basketball League leaders Newcastle Eagles last Friday.

However, he admitted the Plymouth clash was the one he was most looking forward to as he aims to put on a show for the home fans.

“I hear the Worcester fans are great.

“I can’t wait to come out and give them a good game to watch,” Aaron said.

“I have been waiting for this home game for a while, so I am looking forward to playing in front of our fans.

“People here really love the sport and when they support you it is a great feeling.

“It makes you want to go out there and play your hardest and bring them a win.”

Aaron admitted he had been “overwhelmed” by the help from his fellow players and was keen to play his part for his new side, who are gunning for the play-offs.

“I know I have got an important role in the team,” the 23-year-old said.

“The point guard has to be the general out on court as you have to run the plays and know where the guys are most comfortable scoring from.

“I feel like my game will come but I just want to make sure I have got other guys flowing in the game as well.

“The players have made it really easy for me to adjust to everything.

“They have been helping me and making me feel very comfortable and I just want to do the best I can to help the team in any way possible.

“I am a winner and I know these guys want to win, so we have got that common goal to bring success to Worcester and I am extremely excited.”

After tomorrow night’s match, Wolves will next play on Friday, April 1, at home to Leicester Riders.
