WINGER Tom Biggs says the fitness levels of Worcester Warriors’ players shone through in their 55-16 win over Nottingham at Sixways.

Nottingham trailed 22-16 after 55 minutes before Warriors eventually pulled away, scoring four tries in the last 10 minutes.

Biggs was Warriors’ man-of-the-match with a spectacular hat-trick and said Nottingham had given the hosts a stern test.

“Our fitness came through in the end,” said 30-year-old Biggs.

“Nottingham put us under an enormous amount of pressure and, at times, we turned over the ball quite easily in their half.

“They kept putting it right under our sticks and I thought they played some good stuff. Nottingham have some very talented players.”

Biggs, a former Bath player, was delighted to open his try account for Warriors, who are now second in the Greene King IPA Championship.

“As a winger, you always want to score as many as you can,” he said.

“It’s always nice to score — so I was delighted, to get three at home was pretty special.

“But there is no competition going on among us, or anything like that, to see who scores the most.

“As long as we’re winning, it doesn’t matter who scores the tries.

“I have not set myself many goals individually within the club.

“I thought we showed some glimpses of playing some really good stuff. It’s a new challenge for me and hopefully I can be part of making Worcester successful.”

Head coach Carl Hogg confirmed powerhouse flanker Mike Williams was taken to hospital as a precaution after being knocked out following a clash of heads.

“Mike got a knock to his head and was concussed,” said Hogg. “He was knocked out but I think he’s fine.”

Championship leaders Bristol have won all four games and thrashed London Scottish 42-17 on Friday.
